What is a  Breast Reduction procedure?

How can larger breasts affect my daily life?

Usually large breasts can make a teenager or woman feel very self-conscious of their body image. Most women who have large breasts can have different medical problems caused by extra breast tissue which causes neck, back pain, grooving or indentations of their bra straps and possible breathing difficulties.

What can the  Breast Reduction procedure do to improve my appearance?

The  Breast Reduction procedure can create a smaller, lifted, contoured breast shape that would be more in proportion with your body. The overall size of the areola, the darker skin around the nipple can be reduced during your  Breast Reduction surgery.

Can a breast reduction procedure by performed with liposuction?

You have to be evaluated for the liposuction breast reduction during your consultation with Dr. Kay. You have to have a mammogram to evaluate the fat content in your breasts and Dr. Kay will do a physical exam to see if you are a candidate for the  Liposuction Breast Reduction.

Does insurance cover the  Breast Reduction Procedure?

Your insurance carrier is individualized and has guide lines for medically necessary breast reduction procedures. During your consultation with Dr. Kay we will discuss your options.

After the  Breast Reduction can a woman breast feed?

Yes, because Dr. Kay does not completely remove the nipple, all the connections between the breast tissue and the nipple are intact after the procedure. During your consultation with Dr. Kay he will review breast feeding post the  Breast Reduction procedure.

Where do you perform the  Breast Reduction?

The majority of the  Breast Reduction procedures are done in an out patient facility and you can return home or to our concierge hotel for our out of town patients.

What kind of anesthesia do you need for the  Breast Reduction?

During your  Breast Reduction procedure you will have general anesthesia, which means you will be asleep during the entire procedure.

How long is the recovery for the  Breast Reduction?

Usually you can return to work within 7-10 days after your procedure. You will wear a surgical support bra during your recovery. We recommend exercising within 3-4 weeks after your procedure, but Dr. Kay will review your options during your consultation.

What should my goal be from having the  Breast Reduction?

The  Breast Reduction will make your breasts look lifted and more youthful. Your breasts will feel firm and your nipples and areola will look more in proportion to your new breasts. Dr. Kay will review your options for your incisions for the  Breast Reduction procedure during your consultation. The goal of your procedure is for you to feel and look great in your bathing suit this summer and your low cut dresses and tops.
