What is eyelid surgery?

A Blepharoplasty or eyelid surgery removes extra skin, fat or muscle from the upper and lower eyelids. The majority of our patients select to have both the upper and lower eyelids done together, but during your consultation with Dr. Kay will individualize your eyelid procedure.

What can a Blepharoplasty/Eyelid Procedure do?

An Eyelid Lift can get rid of puffy bags under your eyelids, remove extra skin on your upper eyelids and for Asian eyes can add an eyelid crease. Sometimes, if your eyebrows are sagging, the Browlift may be combined with Blepharoplasty to get the best results.

Is Eyelid Surgery performed with other procedures?

The Eyelid Lift can be performed by itself or in conjunction with other facial rejuvenation procedures like the Facelift, Short Scar Face Lift, Endobrow Lift, Neck Lift, or other aesthetic procedures. During a consultation, Dr. Kay will review these option with you and you may be a candidate for Thermage (Non-Invasive Lifting Procedure) for your eyelids as well.

What kind of anesthesia is used for the Eyelid Procedure?

The Eyelid procedure can be performed under local anesthesia or done under sedation safely.
