Q & A: How To Get Ready For The Holidays

Dear Dr. Kay ,

I’d really like to improve my appearance before the holidays, but don’t want a dramatic change.  I just want to look refreshed.  What would your recommendations be to get ready for the holidays?

Dear Mrs. P,

Excellent cosmetic procedures enhance your appearance in a natural way and are not recognized as the specific improvements achieved.  Friends may ask if you have been on vacation, have a new exercise regimen or diet, but typically they won’t know unless you tell them. Many procedures require no surgery and little or no recovery time.  We can discuss the best options for you during your consultation.

Dear Dr. Kay,

What is the most popular procedures that I could do with minimal downtime to get ready for the holidays on my face?

Dear Mrs. J,

Typically, Botox is used to relax muscles people use when they squint or frown.  Botox is commonly used to treat lines on the forehead,  lines between your eyebrows, crow’s feet- lines around your eyes and horizontal bands on your neck.

Another option is to make you look fresher for the holidays is using a superficial filler like Juvederm or Restylane on areas of the face that you have fine lines.   In our practice we use deep tissue fillers like Radiesse to create a more volumetric change in the cheeks.

There are many other options to make you look great for the holidays like our customized skin care program, so I look forward to seeing you in the office for a consultation.

Dear Dr. Kay,

I am considering having some cosmetic surgery over the holidays, possibly a tummy tuck.  How much time would be needed to recovery from this procedure?

Dear Mrs. L,

Generally, most patients can return to daily activities within 10 days to 2 weeks after a tummy tuck.   We would be glad to see you for a consultation to evaluate if you are a candidate for a tummy tuck and review all the details of the procedure in our office.
