What is Restylane® and How Does it Work?

We’ve all had a moment when we stared at wrinkles and lines on our face and wished there was a quick way to reduce or even eliminate them. When we seek solutions through plastic surgery, we may think of surgery first, but there are other, non-surgical ways to eliminate specific wrinkles and folds that form on the face.

At Kay Plastic Surgery, we offer an injectable filler called Restylane® that specifically reverses these signs of aging and improves or eliminates the appearance of the facial “marionette” lines from your nose to the corners of your mouth.   Restylane® can also immediately add volume and improve contour lost through time, or enhance the fullness and definition of the lips with just one treatment.

Restylane® is a gel formulation of hyaluronic acid, which is a natural molecule in your body that promotes a healthy and full skin appearance. It is formulated to act like your hyaluronic acid, which over time breaks down. Ultimately, after your Restylane® treatment, you will have naturally younger results.

Each treatment area takes about fifteen minutes.  Multiple areas of concern can be done during a single office visit. Touch up treatments are recommended around six months after the first treatment, but results are long-lasting.  Recovery time is minimal to none.  As with any type of injection, some temporary bruising, swelling and numbness may be present at the injection site.  We minimize the potential for these problems with simple pre-treatment preparation.  Treatment provides outstanding results instantly.

Susan Kramer, APRN, BC, our plastic surgery nurse practitioner and Dr. Kay provide amazing, age-defying results with treatments of Restylane®, so call us today to receive more information.  Try to schedule your complimentary consultation before your next special event, so you can look refreshed and more youthful.
